About This Project
The project, located in Newark, California, brings much needed housing to the ever-growing Bay Area. Located directly off the Dumbarton Bridge the workers of Silicon Valley can easily commute to Palo Alto and the surrounding areas. Bayshores is at the edge of the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge and within sight of the multicolored Cargill salt ponds.
The 5 neighborhoods center on a large community park which provides a play area for children, a large open lawn to picnic and ample space to enjoy the warm East Bay weather. Pocket parks have been speckled throughout the community to provide every resident convenient access to outdoor elements. The adjacent Bay Trail creates a unique amenity for the community’s residents. Lookouts and seating areas along the Bay Trail provide residents places to stop and view the recreated wetlands and the salt ponds off in the distance. Natural, low water planting has been used throughout the project and reflects the sounding environment.
