Last week, American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) held their annual Advocacy Day and met with legislators and congressional staff to discuss policies that are important to our profession. As stewards for our land, we can play a vital role in creating solutions to problems that affect both the environment and the communities in them.
As part of ASLA Advocacy Day, Blake was part of the Northern California representation at Capitol Hill. He was able to gain valuable insight on how policies and legislation are formed. Here’s a little bit of what he had to say:
“The experience taught me how large and crucial the advocacy arm of the ASLA can be. Our membership and support funds the ASLA to stand up and fight on Capital Hill for legislation that is important to landscape architects, the county and the environment.“– Blake Rhinehart
We couldn’t be prouder to have Blake as a representative not just for Urban Arena, but for ASLA and our profession as whole.
