About This Project
Millhaus is a1.94 acre, 217-unit podium apartment building located in Millcreek, Utah. Urban Arena worked in conjunction with AO Architects, APT Design Studios and The Boyer Company. It was designed around the idea of extending daily life beyond the walls of the building. The project is located directly across the street from Millcreek Common, a dynamic urban park which features a roller-skating rink, pizza house, splash pad and holds events like farmer’s markets, flea markets, hosting food trucks, and movie festivals.
Urban Arena’s landscape architecture team shaped a collection of outdoor spaces that support a range of resident experiences, from recreation and fitness to casual gathering and remote work. The exterior amenity spaces feature an outdoor pool deck on the south side of the building which overlooks the adjacent Millcreek Common. The pool deck includes a roughly 600 square foot pool, spa with privacy wall, lawn spaces for games and covered barbecue and lounge spaces. The interior fitness center faces the pool area and has an outdoor fitness lawn space that spills out to the pool deck.
Additionally, the building features a grand central courtyard. The center includes custom enlarged wood deck platforms and terraced wood benches. This seating allows for residents to work, hangout with friends or grab a drink. The courtyard also features a water fountain, rustic ping pong table and a spill out terrace from the adjacent clubroom. The aesthetic for the building is industrial chic with materials selected together with the design team.
